If you don’t normally watch Spanish language media or have never lived in South Florida, you may not have heard of Father Alberto Cutié.  He’s a young, forty-something, clean shaven, man of the cloth who was the bilingual face of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.  He headed up the office of communications and even had his own “Oprahesque” talk show on Telemundo, “Cambia Tu Vida con el Padre Alberto” (Change Your Life with Father Alberto) in 1999.

The Puerto Rican-born son of Cuban immigrants is known for really connecting with his audience, whether parishioners, listeners (on Radio Pax), readers (as a syndicated columnist) or television viewers.

Fast-forward almost a decade — Father Cutié left the Roman Catholic Church after falling in love with a woman named Ruhama Buni Canellis, whom he later married in 2009.  The Cutié’s have two children, a baby daughter (Camila Victoria) and a son (Christian Norton) from his wife’s first marriage.

Father Alberto is presently ministering in the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida as pastor of Church of the Resurrection in Biscayne Park, FL and he’s back on TV in English as “Father Albert.”  It’s carried on many Fox O&O stations.  We wish him well in his new television program and in his ministry!
